Albany Regional Museum, 136 Lyon S. presents
Spinning Tales with Ray Ballantyne Storyteller Ray Ballantyne was born in Oregon and grew up in the Pacific Northwest. For thirty years he taught elementary school, mostly in the primary grades. From the beginning, stories formed the heart of Ray’s classroom. From the riches of children’s literature and the oral tradition, he evokes the power and mystery of stories in his presentation. Ray is now a full-time storyteller and children’s writer. Ray Ballantyne has shared his stories in schools, libraries, churches, camps and gatherings throughout the Northwest.
He has been a featured storyteller at the STORIES BY THE SEA and the
TCHA TEE MAN WI storytelling festivals.

Hop in for hands on activities Pre-K and Up. Space is limited.
Reservations are recommended, or take your chances and drop on in.

Tuesday through Saturday, March 24 – March 28, 10- 4pm
Historic Carousel Art Studio and Museum, 503 First W
Children of all ages learn about the history of the American Carousel and
visit the studio and museum. Children’s table with coloring pages all week long.
Regular Hours: Monday – Saturday 10-4pm. Museum portion closed Monday

Friday, March 27, 10:30am – 12noon
Monteith House Museum, 518 2nd Ave SW
The Monteith House is hosting its Second Annual Pioneer Day Camp for children five years and up. Children will take part in churning butter, making corn bread, playing pioneer games, going on a tour of Albany’s first frame house, and other pioneer activities. Please contact the Albany Visitors Association to reserve your child’s spot. Due to limited space, there is a limit of 15 children. Parents are welcome to join their child in this experience. The Monteith House Museum is open during the summer season, for special events and by arrangement through the Albany Visitors Association. (541) 928-0911
