Monday, March 22, 11am Albany Regional Museum, 136 Lyon S. presents Roben Jack Larrison, curator of the Jensen Arctic Museum, will give a presentation to students including hands-on activities of making snow goggles and gut bags as well as an opportunity to learn more about the Arctic culture. The Jensen Arctic Museum, located on the Western Oregon University campus in Monmouth, is the only museum on the West Coast devoted solely to collecting, preserving, and teaching about Arctic culture and ecology. Children will hear about and experience some pioneer work, explore some pioneer games, and even get to make one to take home. They will also be given a tour of Albany’s first frame house. Please contact the Albany Visitors Association to reserve your child's spot. Due to limited space, there is a limit of 15 children per session. Parents are welcome to join their child in this experience. The Monteith House Museum is open during the summer season, for special events and by arrangement through the Albany Visitors Association.
