Historians, planners, scholars, and heritage enthusiasts from throughout the state will attend.

Procession of the Species
Enjoy a springtime celebration of the natural world in downtown Albany with the Procession of the Species, 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26. Dress up like your favorite tree, animal or imaginary creature and join this home-grown parade. Line up starts at 9:30 in front of the Linn County Courthouse (4th Avenue and Broadalbin Street SW). Walk a loop through historic downtown Albany and wind up at the Albany Saturday Market where the Celebration continues with booths offering environmental activities and giveaways. The Procession is open to kids and adults of all ages. No live animals, costumes with words, or motorized vehicles.
