5th Annual Albany Photography Contest
The Albany Visitors Association (AVA) is proud to sponsor the 5th Annual Albany Photography Contest. The purpose of this contest is to find images suitable for use in the coming year's marketing program for Albany and Linn County.

The contest is open to photographers of all skill levels. First through third place ribbons will be given to winners in each of six categories plus overall winners Champion and Reserve Champion. There will also be a ribbon awarded for Peoples' Choice. Prizes will be awarded to Champion, Reserve, and Peoples' Choice winners. Deadline for submission is 5:00 pm Friday, February 24th, 2012.

Let's fill the parking lot in front of the West Entrance of the Heritage Mall!! Entry fee $20. Entry must be recieved by June 15th to receive free t-shirt. 34th Annual Historic Home TourSaturday, July 28, 2012, 11am-5pm
34th Annual Historic Home Tour
Visit Albany on the last Saturday in July, for the Annual Historic Tour of Homes & Gardens, when several families open their homes to the public for tours. Each home has been lovingly restored, and reflects the best of both historic architecture and modern function. Ticket price includes refreshments, live entertainment, trolley and horse-drawn wagon rides. Purchase tickets at the Albany Visitors Association, 9am-4pm, 250 Broadalbin, Ste. 110, 541-928-0911.

5th Annual Albany Creiterium Bike Race
Join us in Historic Downtown Albany, as riders take to the streets to compete in this OBRA (Oregon Bicycle Racing Association) sanctioned event. Position yourself along the course and watch the racers zip by. Watch the finish line at 2nd and Washington, while eating outside at Loafers Restaurant. Mens and Women's Master and Juniors, Fun Cruiser Crit, and Kiddie Kilo/Parade. Pre-register or day of event. Proceeds benefit Albany's Bicycle Safety Education Program and the West Albany High School Cross Country Team.

Trolley of TerrorUsually last couple of weekends in October, at 6pm, 7pm, 8pm & 9pm
Trolley of Terror
Climb aboard the Albany Trolley of Terror for a tour of the haunted places in Albany's Historic Districts. The trolley will be draped in somber black funeral buntings for the occasion. The stories told on this tour are all purported to be true, and some are decidedly weird. Don't miss this opportunity to get the inside story on these historic haunted homes and businesses. Why visit a haunted house when you can take in the whole haunted town?!

Tours start at Cidicci's Pizza. Seating is limited, so reserve your seat by calling 541-928-0911. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids under 12. Special group rates available. A fund raiser for the Monteith Historical Society.

Veterans Day Parade and Events
With over 200 entries, and as many as 40,000 spectators, Albany hosts the largest Veterans Day parade west of the Mississippi. It is organized and run every year by the volunteer efforts of the Veterans Commemoration Association. The parade features veterans from wars past and present, marching units, military vehicles, and marching bands. Check back here for a list of events preceding the parade.
