Night Time Magic Holiday Light Contest 2016
Once Again, the Albany Visitors Association is helping to make the holiday season bright by sponsoring the 29th Annual Night Time Magic Holiday Light Program. Residents are encouraged to enter a contest for best use of lights in decorating the exterior of their homes.

Three winners will be selected to win great prizes and one will be awarded the "Best Neighborly Effort." Winners will be entitled to bragging rights for the entire year, and one of three fabulous prizes as determined by the prize committee. Be a part of Historic Albany's magic!

Christmas Storybook LandDecember 2nd through December 16th
Christmas Storybook Land
Enjoy a simulated walk through the woods where you can view 80 scaled down scenes, some of which are animated, as well as a train layout and Victorian Village. At the end of your walk you can visit with Santa and take your photos.

Children's Pioneer Christmas PartyDecember 4, 2016
Children's Pioneer Christmas Party
Celebrate the Christmas season the way the pioneers would have done in the 1800s by joining the festivities at the Monteith House. Children ages 5-16 are invited to join the Monteith Historical Society for a Christmas party on Sunday, December 4th at 3:00 p.m. Children will make pioneer Christmas crafts to decorate the House tree, sing carols, eat Christmas cookies, and have the option to ride on the horse drawn wagon in the Twice Around Downtown Christmas Parade at 5:00 p.m. The cost is $15 per child, and $10 per additional sibling. Reserve your child's spot today by calling the Albany Visitors Association at 541-928-0911. Space is limited and fills up fast!

Downtown Twice Around Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting
The Downtown Twice Around Christmas Parade rolls through Downtown Albany Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016. Parade entry forms are available at the Downtown Albany office, 126 Ferry St. SW. The parade starts promptly at 5:00 p.m. Immediately following the parade is the Community Tree Lighting Ceremony at Two Rivers Market parking lot, corner Ferry and Second, Downtown.

Breakfast with Santa and Free Movie
Come have breakfast with Santa in Downtown Albany on Saturday, Dec. 10th, 2016. This year we have a new venue for breakfast. Novak's Hungarian Restaurant will be hosting breakfast for Santa and his friends! Families will enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet prepared by chef Karen Novak, while Santa mingles table to table with everyone. After breakfast, children will be called to sit with Santa, receive a gift and tell him what they want for Christmas. The cost is $25 per person (adults and children are the same price.) Breakfast starts at 9:00 a.m. and reservations are required. Call 541-928-2469 for reservations.

Free Holiday Movie at the Pix
Downtown Albany and the Pix Theatre partner to show a classic Christmas movie for the whole family. There has been a change in time this year so please note that the doors open at 9:30 a.m. and the movie starts at 10:00 a.m. This year's choice is Home Alone starring Macaulay Culkin and Joe Pesci. The movie is free, but guests are asked to please bring a can or other non-perishable food item if they can. After the movie you can have lunch downtown and do a little last minute Christmas shopping. See you on the 10th after Breakfast with Santa.

Silver Falls State Park 39th Annual Christmas Festival
Join in various country Christmas time craft! Make a wreath, a gingerbread house, cards, and ornaments. Learn how the park changes during the winter. Enjoy storytelling and live music. The event is free, but the usual $5 day-use parking fee applies. Starts at 11:00 a.m and runs until 4:00 p.m. This year, the event is only one day, Saturday.
