Kids Summer Passport Program 2017

Looking for things to do in Albany this summer with your family? We’ve created a summertime challenge to put an end to summer boredom for kids and parents alike.

Out and About in Albany. The New virtual Summer Passport Program is all about you!

Pick your adventure and report back your findings: favorite finds, best bites, pretty parks, beautiful backroads, clever cats… yes, we’re all about alliteration today but really, we just want YOU to get out and make some fun summer memories. GET OUT OF BED, OFF THE COUCH AND GET OUTSIDE!

How to enter: The weekly challenges will be posted to the Journey Facebook page. Your mission (and opportunity to win prizes) is accomplished when you follow the weekly challenges. You are entered when you post your pics and happenings in the comments section of the Journey Facebook page. (There are no paper passport books this year.)

We’ll be sharing right along with you.  AND…each week we’ll pick a winner. Prizes will vary based on our partners but each and every week some random lucky reporter will win a prize just for sharing their story. That could be YOU! The Journey starts along with the summer: Saturday, June 17, 2017 the first prize will be announced and the winner from the first week will be chosen Monday, June 26, 2017.

We need to know What, Who, When, Where, Why and How. A picture can tell a lot and it gets you an extra entry in the weekly drawing. So post away or email today and tell us about your big (and little) adventures along the way on the Journey to the Center of Albany Facebook page!

Here’s an example:
Coooooling off on a hot day, water is good clean fun and a great way to cool off in the summer. Take your pick – your back-yard wading pool, hose or sprinkler; super soakers, buckets, or water balloons; Swanson Cool Pool, YMCA or Community Pool are all fun options for getting wet. If your parents decide to use a natural waterway to spend the day don’t forget our Albany Fire Department has a loan a life-jacket program to help you stay safe and it’s free!

  • Stay in touch and be informed of updates all summer long by following the Journey to the Center of Albany Facebook page!
