Linn County Historical Society Presents “Jennie Parrish: Early Oregon Healer.” At 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, Jane Kirkpatrick, historian and author, will present at the Lakeside Center, located at the Mennonite Village at 2180 54th Avenue SE in Albany. Albany’s MoonShadow Lavender Farm will open to the public on Friday June 22nd and Friday June 29th, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The farm is located at 34556 Mountain View Pl NE. Contact Gale for more information about lavender workshops at the farm, including wreath, wand, and swag-making classes.

The first of Albany’s 2018 Farm to Table Dinnerstakes place on Saturday, August 19th. Dine al fresco along a shaded historic waterway—the Albany 8th Street Canal. Feast on delectable creations by Chef Matt Bennett of Sybaris Bistro and sip locally-grown and crafted Springhill Cellars Winery selections. The menu is based on Cajun Creole cuisine inspired by Chef Bennett’s recent trip to New Orleans. Seating at the dinner is limited and we encourage you to purchase your tickets early for what will no doubt, be a sold-out event. Difficulty: Moderate
Learn about the origin and identification of river rocks. Includes hiking on riverbanks and in the
river and bending while collecting rocks. Please come prepared for a day on the river, including
good footwear for wading, lunch and water. If you have it, please bring a rock identification book,
a rock hammer and a hand lens.
