Sometimes the best way to experience a place is by sampling its food. If you want to plan your visit to Albany around a special culinary event, you’re in luck — Oregonians have a remarkable food culture, and Albany is home to many culinary tours and events.
*Note: Nosh Tours are available only by reservation.
If you’d like to sample the best of what Albany has to offer in food and drink, then it’s time to try a Nosh Tour. Via Albany’s historic trolley, departing from the AVA, the Nosh Tour takes guests to many of Albany’s home-grown restaurants, tasting food and drink samples of what makes each establishment stand out.
Please check back for 2017 dates. These are usually scheduled between Halloween and New Years, however, private group tours of 28 may be coordinated. Email Sherri at the AVA to inquire about private Nosh Tours.
Albany Upstairs Downtown Wine Walk: Albany’s historic buildings are open from top to bottom–tour the renovated lofts in the Downtown Historic District while sampling wine from dozens of Willamette Valley wineries, the first Friday in May each year.
Greater Albany Rotary Club Crabfest: Dungeness Crab is one of the Northwest’s greatest culinary delights–mouthwatering, tender, and caught just off the shores of the Oregon Coast. The GARC Crabfest is an early spring all-you-can eat feast on these local delicacies, and it raises money for local non-profits.
Lebanon Strawberry Festival: Taste a piece of the World’s Largest Strawberry Shortcake at this annual community celebration in Lebanon. Held each year in June, it’s been celebrating sweet, Oregon-grown berries for more than 100 years.
