Theaters & Performing Arts

Whether you love going to see live theater performances or dream of starring in them yourself, Albany is home to a vibrant local theater and performing arts scene. Here are a few of the places you can go to experience the thrill of a live show:

Albany Civic Theater: ACT is one of Oregon’s busiest and oldest community theater groups. The all-volunteer theater group puts on a year-round season of plays and musicals in an intimate theater located in Albany’s historic downtown. ACT also sponsors a variety of workshops and a youth theater program.

The Nutcracker: Each December Albany ballet school Legacy Ballet and the Linn-Benton Community College Theater Department partner to put on The Nutcracker. This holiday tradition features Tchaicovsky’s classic score with dancers from local ballet schools and guest artists from professional companies.

Other local companies and groups put on shows in the mid-Willamette Valley; check out the Albany Visitors Association events calendar or call 541-928-0911 for current event listings.
