Swimming

There’s nothing better on a hot summer day than cooling off with a swim.

Albany’s Cool Pool is a popular summertime destination for kids. With a 36-foot water slide, a spray park and zero-depth entry for the littlest swimmers, it’s the perfect place for family fun in the water.

The Albany Community Pool is an indoor pool open to the public for recreational and lap swimming daily. Albany’s Mid-Willamette YMCA, the Albany Tennis Club, and the Albany Springhill Golf Club and Event Center offer additional swimming pools that offer memberships or day passes for purchase.

If you like outdoor swimming holes, check out the protected swimming area at Lewis Creek Park in Sweet Home with a pebble beach area for mom and dad to sit in the sun while kids splash and float. McKercher Park, just off of Highway 228, one mile west of Crawfordsville, is a popular swimming spot in the Calapooia River. Pioneer Park offers lazy, quiet water in the pioneer town of Brownsville.
