Kids of all ages are invited to help make apple cider at Thompson’s Mills State Heritage Site on September 3, October 1 and 29th. Kids can help crush and press the apples and watch the golden cider flow from the press. Docents will be on hand for tours of the Mill. Unlimited free cider tasting and half-gallon jugs available for $5 contribution to Thompson’s Mills Preservation Society. Apples are provided by Riverwood Orchards but visitors are invited to contribute apples from their own trees, too, as the best cider is made from a mix of varieties. Admission to the Mill is free and picnic tables are available.
