Linn County Historical Society Presents “Jennie Parrish: Early Oregon Healer.” At 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, Jane Kirkpatrick, historian and author, will present at the Lakeside Center, located at the Mennonite Village at 2180 54th Avenue SE in Albany. Taste of the Valley is organized by students in the social entrepreneurship club,16xOSU, at Oregon State University. It brings together local wineries, breweries, restaurants, coffee houses, and bakeries all in one location to highlight their signature dishes & drinks and support the Linn Benton Food Share.
For students in the club, planning, organizing, and implementing a community-wide event is a great opportunity to take skills learned in the classroom and apply them to the real world–literally.
Taste of the Valley is going to be held May 22, 2018 at the Children’s Farm Home, Historic Old School.

During this interactive 3 day workshop, we will introduce Sage-ing concepts including life review, forgiveness work and issues surrounding mortality. We will explore feelings about aging and the role of spiritual growth in our later years. Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife will be stocking additional trout for the event and each
angler will have the opportunity to catch their limit of 5 fish. Fishing is allowed before and after
the event. There will also be opportunities for participants to make fish-themed ornaments at the
USDA Forest Service tent. Participants must register at the event before fishing.
