Welcome to AVA’s monthly calendar of events. Take a peek and plan your stay-cation or your next visit to our region. The city’s most notable annual events include historic home tours, outdoor summer concerts and movies under the stars, and the Northwest Art and Air Festival.

See the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree while it visits Albany on its way from Sweet Home to Washington, D.C. It will be on display at the Linn County Courthouse from 9:00 – 3:00 pm. Festivities during the tree’s visit to Albany include:
– Welcoming of the People’s Tree by City officials and other dignitaries.
– A booth greeting visitors to the celebration (and a chance to win free rides at the Albany Historic Carousel & Museum).
– Presentations by the Boys and Girl Scouts of America, Albany.
– Annual Albany Veterans Day Parade (the largest Veterans Day parade west of the Mississippi River).
– Farmers’ Market vendors and merchandise.
– Activities are free and open to the public.

Come enjoy an evening with local author Kirk Richardson. Books will be available to purchase, and we will help you corner Kirk to get your copy signed! Kirk lives in the Willamette Valley and writes the Craft Beer Country Blog, his observations and reviews of brews, pubs, and places worth exploring. This original play, written by LBCC Theater Faculty Dan Stone, examines political viewpoints and gun issues with a huge helping of hilarity. Created in the improvisational slapstick-style of Commedia dell’ Arte, this play makes fun of extreme conservatives and liberals alike. Tickets are $10 general admission, $7 for students and seniors.
