You’re invited to visit the Albany Masonic Cemetery over Memorial Day weekend for a self-guided walking tour of notables buried at 700 Broadway St., SW. Fifty yellow placards throughout the five acres recount the lives of a cross-section of Albany’s citizens including Samuel Althouse (1825-1886), one of Albany’s earliest settlers and Carol (Dirrett) Davis (1919-2014), director of the American Red Cross during the 1964 floods and the Vietnam War.
Volunteers have been restoring markers and grounds for seven years through grants from the Oregon Historic Cemeteries Grant and local donors. The cemetery is considered “significant” in the inventory of Oregon historic properties and is looked after by the Albany St. Johns Lodge #17 AF & AM.

Join Midway Farms for a fun family day on the farm! Meet their milk cow Fawn and her calf Valentine. See bunnies, chickens, ducks, lambs and a mini pony. Stroll through the organic garden and breath the fresh air. There will be cookies, pastries, tea, coffee, gifts and chocolates available to purchase. This is a celiac safe event!

The keynote speaker will be Nita Eggers, who supported our troops and our nation as a “Rosie.” The service will also include the laying of 20 wreaths, including one for a Cold War Veteran, a rifle salute, presentation of colors and a Veterans Flyover by civilian pilots at 11:45. The service is organized by the Linn County Veterans Memorial Association.
Join the Albany Carousel for a sensory-friendly ride!
To provide a more accepting and comfortable setting for individuals on the autism spectrum or with sensory sensitivities and their families, we will slow the carousel down to a jog and turn off the organ music.
It’s our hope to provide a fun and inviting space for everyone. So put on your blue and join us!
