Coming to a park near you this summer! This summer join Albany Parks & Recreation in a different neighborhood each week for games and fun for kids of all ages! You are invited to find a bench or bring a blanket and enjoy some sun and time in our beautiful parks before heading home to work on a cool take-home craft kit. this event is FREE! Join the Albany Carousel for a sensory-friendly ride!
To provide a more accepting and comfortable setting for individuals on the autism spectrum or with sensory sensitivities and their families, we will slow the carousel down to a jog and turn off the organ music.
It’s our hope to provide a fun and inviting space for everyone. So put on your blue and join us!

Linn County Master Gardeners will be offering free classes at the demo garden. Each session features a short talk, demonstrations and valuable information to take home. Class topics, dates, times and directions are listed below.
Planting your Garden—How and when to prepare the soil, plant, and transplant vegetables and ornamentals. June 30th, Thursday 6 p.m.
Container Gardening—Growing in containers unleashes possibilities for gardening in a small space. July 9th, Saturday 10 a.m.
Plant a Fall Garden —It is not too late to plant a garden to enjoy in fall through winter. August 11th, Thursday 6 p.m.
Growing & Using Herbs—Learn to start, grow and care for perennial and annual herbs. August 27th, Saturday 10 a.m.
Harvesting Fruits & Vegetables—How to determine the peak flavor and ripeness of fruits and vegetables. Sept 8th, Thursday 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Directions to the Demo Garden: Take Knox Butte Rd. to the Expo Center, at the stop lights turn onto Timber Drive and continue to the stop sign. Turn right onto Dogwood (which becomes Price Road) and continue past Expo Center parking lot to the blue entrance gate. Drive through the gate and through the back parking to the Demo Garden.
