Welcome to AVA’s monthly calendar of events. Take a peek and plan your stay-cation or your next visit to our region. The city’s most notable annual events include historic home tours, outdoor summer concerts and movies under the stars, and the Northwest Art and Air Festival.

From breakfast to dinner, dozens of tasty options are sure to please during Downtown Albany Restaurant Week. Each restaurant will have specials so it’s easy to spend your week sampling your way through Downtown! Dine-In, outside or order to-go. Times vary with each restaurant, but most are their normal hours. Reservations are highly recommended.
This year’s restaurants include Calapooia Brewing, Sybaris Bistro, The Depot – Seafood, Ba’s Vietnamese Comfort Food, Beloved Cheesecake (pending final construction), Brick & Mortar Café, The Brim Coffee Co., Carousel Café, Deluxe Brewing, Gamberetti’s – Italian, The Garage – Pub Food, Homegrown Oregon Foods, Jinda Thai, Jo Jo Mac’s – Southern Cuisine, Loafer’s Station – American, The Mad Platter – East Coast, Margin Coffee Roasters, Natural Sprinkles Co. – Bakery, Novak’s – Hungarian, The Squeaky Cork – Scottish, Sweet Red Bistro, Taqueria Alonzo – Mexican, Toki Teriyaki – Korean, Vault 244 Bistro and Lounge, and Wine Crush. Join the Albany Carousel for a sensory-friendly ride!
To provide a more accepting and comfortable setting for individuals on the autism spectrum or with sensory sensitivities and their families, we will slow the carousel down to a jog and turn off the organ music.
It’s our hope to provide a fun and inviting space for everyone. So put on your blue and join us!
Springtime at the Roost features indoor and outdoor garden decor, beautiful and unique gifts for Mother’s Day, delicious baked goods and a shop full of antiques, collectibles, and wonderful creations by local crafters. The show is open Fridays and Saturdays only, May 5 through May 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For information visit the Vintage Roost Facebook page.
For 1st Friday in May, the carousel will have a Mother’s Day theme. For the craft, you can create a Mother’s Day card with tissue-paper flowers. The Café special is 50 cents off nachos and the Gift Shop special is 20% off of all jewelry. There will be a $5.00 entry fee and it includes unlimited carousel rides!
