The Li’l Art Show is a gallery display at Linn County Arts Guild including only works of art that are 8×10″ or smaller. Visitors are welcome to come enjoy artwork created by local artists from Linn County.

“The music we’re doing now works well in quiet places like theaters and performing art centers. We still don’t use a program or a set list so we don’t know what we’ll do until we do it. Please do not expect old songs. Many singers my age do a retrospective; this show is not like that. It’s mostly stuff made up in the last 3 and 4 years. Some of the songs presented might be in different languages; this is not to be esoteric or clever, it’s because the different languages help me express different feelings sometimes. One last thing, my idea of a good show has nothing to do with applause. It’s about if all the songs I sang that night were ones that I felt.” – Jonathan Richman

Maxine, a feisty, bitter Alzheimer’s victim, doesn’t want to move into a nursing facility. But when she meets Joe, a widower who shares her love for dance, her outlook begins to change. Although the two clash when lucid, their hazy memories overlap, and they begin an affair that rejuvenates and fulfills them. But can these lovers — played simultaneously by an elderly twosome and a young, vivacious couple — stay together despite their families’ wishes and their fading vitality? ASL interpretation may be offered at some shows. On-demand streaming tickets are also available.  Tickets for live shows are $14 for adults and $11 for for under 18, Seniors 60+, US Military and Veterans, and holders of Oregon Trail Cards. The Albany Pride Festival will be held in downtown Albany in front of the Linn County Courthouse. Included in the activities will be a rally, march, live performances, music, several booths, food, and other activities.

Please try to carpool to the event, as parking will not be permitted on Broadalbin Street between 2nd, 3rd, and 4th avenues, and 4th Avenue between Ferry and Ellsworth also will be closed to parking and traffic.
