Native American Cultural Encampment July 20 and July 21 @ Waterloo County Park @ Waterloo County Park | Lebanon | Oregon | United States

What is a cultural encampment?

Cultural encampment is a group of Native Americans from different parts of the United States coming together, making village-type settings with tipis and tents. We share our individual cultures and traditional information with the community.

Many moons ago, traveling through an area, you might see groups of tipis or tents for a short time in each area. There were there to gather together, trade or meet family members and to celebrate life by having a big feast as they traveled from one area to another.

Open Mic Night at Deluxe Brewing @ Deluxe Brewing Co.
Jul 25 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Open Mic Night at Deluxe Brewing @ Deluxe Brewing Co. | Albany | Oregon | United States
You’re invited to Open Mic Night at Deluxe Brewing in Albany, OR! Join us on the fourth Thursday of each month in 2024 in the Deluxe taproom. This free event is a chance to feature local musicians and performers of all experience levels and talent backgrounds who are looking for a place to perform. Hosted with the aim to provide a relaxed atmosphere for the creative process of our local talent, we ask that all guests be respectful of the space and those who occupy it. Open to all ages, we ask that profanity and content be limited to roughly PG-13 status for the time being.
Sign-up for talent will start ten minutes before showtime at 6:50 PM. Performances will be from 7-9 PM, with acts limited to 15 minutes maximum. For musicians, this averages roughly 3-4 songs, yet music, comedy, poetry, magic, or other quality talent is welcome.
A microphone, amplifier, and cables will be provided. Individuals who require sheet music, instruments or a music stand should bring their own. Talent will be scheduled in order of who signs up with our Open Mic Host, Travis, coordinating the event. There may be the opportunity for second performances once the initial list is completed.
Open Mic Night is free to spectators and performers, though we recommend pairing your entertainment with refreshments from our bar and on-site food cart.
Deluxe Brewing is open to all ages, apart from the immediate bar area and is always pet-friendly. The taproom serves craft beer, house spirit cocktails, cider, wine and soda. The Deluxe Food Cart is also open throughout the event time for dinner orders.

Enjoy some of Albany’s wonderful homes and historic buildings – from the inside – on the 45th Summer Tour of Homes from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 27.

At least five lovely historic homes will be open for touring, as well as the Monteith House, Albany Regional
Museum, and other historic buildings.
Get a chance to see progress on the renovation of the Cumberland Church, located at Santiam
Road and Pine Street SE.

Admission is $15 per person, and tickets can be purchased online here from July 1 until 5 p.m. on Friday, July 26. To receive a copy of the tour map and wristband, bring your e-ticket to the Albany Visitors Association office at 122 Ferry St. SW on the day of the tour, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.  Limited in-person ticket sales will also be available at the AVA office on the day of the tour.

Well-behaved children under 12 are admitted free with a paid adult. Visitors are kindly asked not to touch any items in the homes and to refrain from taking photos or videos while inside.

Here are some of the highlights:
 Tour several privately owned historic homes and the Cumberland Church project.
 Catch the trolley at the Albany Visitors Association, 122 Ferry St. SW, or at one of the
homes on the tour as it makes a stop, or drive, walk, bike or hike the tour on your own.
The horse-drawn wagon will be available on a limited route.
 Make stops at the Albany Regional Museum, the Monteith House Museum and some of
Albany’s historic churches, including United Presbyterian Church and Whitespires
Church.
 Enjoy light refreshments, provided at one of the homes on tour.

Albany’s Interior Tour of Historic Homes was created by a group of friends and neighbors to
share the past through the architecture of historic dwellings. They are coordinated by Albany’s
Historic Interior Home Tour Committee and sponsored by the Monteith Historical Society.
For more information, go to albanyvisitors.com, or call 541-928-0911.

Proceeds from Albany’s Interior Tour of Historic Homes benefit the Monteith House Museum.
