Residents and visitors are invited back to Corvallis Central Park for the Corvallis Art Guild’s annual Clothesline Sale of Art on Saturday, August 3. This event will feature more artists, food vendors, and family-friendly activities than ever before!
Linn and Benton County’s finest art and artisan creators, along with student artists from the area, will display and sell two- and three-dimensional artworks, including painting, photography, multimedia, ceramics, glass, fiber arts, and woodwork. The event will also welcome members of the Willamette Ceramics Guild, the Mid-Willamette Woodworkers Guild, and the Fire and Light Glass Guild.
The Clothesline Sale, which began on the Benton County Courthouse lawn in 1961, initially featured only members of the Corvallis Art Guild. Named for the clothesline on which unmatted art pieces were held by clothespins, the display system later evolved into a steel rope and chicken wire setup. Last year, the event moved to Central Park, expanded to include more types of art, and introduced food vendors so guests could enjoy themselves without going hungry.
The Clothesline Sale of Art is co-sponsored by the City of Corvallis Parks & Recreation, Windermere Willamette Valley Real Estate, Advantage Property Management, Darkside Cinema, and Alyrica, which will provide good Wi-Fi in the park during the event.
