Festival of Trees is a community event sponsored by the Brownsville Women’s Study Club which supports the Library, the Moyer House and other community causes. View some 25 decorated trees in the downtown Brownsville area businesses and place a silent auction bid to take one home! Bidding ends Saturday, December 8 at 4 pm. You are invited to the second annual South Albany High School Holiday Bazaar! This year, all proceeds from vendor registration fees will go directly to meeting the needs of the students experiencing homelessness at South Albany High. There is a full house of vendors including LOTS of food, crafts and businesses. Entry is by donation of a non-perishable food item which will be given to South Albany High families in need. The Bush Pilots are a bluegrass-style trio that plays their original songs and adds a variety of interpretations of other tunes. Sybaris presents the fourth “Let Kids be Kids!” a Dickens Christmas dinner to raise funds for local underprivileged children to ride the Albany Historic Carousel. The menu includes chilled pheasant pie with wassail jelly, goose “ham”, pease porridge, mock turtle soup, smoked trout kedgeree, roasted pork loin with sugar plum gravy, roasted potatoes, plum pudding with hard sauce, real English Stilton, fruits and nuts, and oat biscuits. The cost is $50 per person, $75 with wine pairing and gratuity is not included. Please, don’t be a scrooge, raise your glasses for kids who need passes! Join the library for fun holiday craft evenings in December! Get ready for the holidays by learning how to make your own decorations and gifts. These evenings are best for adults and teens 15+, and all supplies are provided.
December 11, 7:00 p.m.: Book Page Ornaments and 3-D Snowflakes. Celebrate a favorite author or story by creating a holiday ornament filled with book page “ribbons” or make a 3-D snowflake.

Brookdale Senior Living and Sybaris Bistro are partnering to bring us this annual event of wonderful holiday food and entertainment. the Center will be decorated and an 11:00 a.m. hors d’oeuvers and punch service will take place in the lobby before the meal at 12:00.
