Get ready for the Veterans Day parade with this hearty all-you-can-eat breakfast including scrambled eggs, ham, pancakes, milk and coffee. The cost is $10.00 for Adults, $5.00 for Kids, Active Military in uniform, and Veterans. Proceeds will help the Albany Optimist Club support organizations in our community that help children.
The Wall of Honor was originally called Faces of the Fallen and represents all of our Fallen Heroes that gave their lives in combat operations from 2001 through 2021. As of November 2021, it now includes the service men and women killed in action in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The service will include welcoming remarks by Linn County Commissioner Will Tucker, Albany Mayor Alex Johnson II, and Michael E. Stencel, Adjutant General, OR Military Department. Keynote Speaker Randy Martinak of the Linn County Veterans Memorial Association will lead the ceremony, which will include the laying of wreaths and a 105mm Howitzer Gun Salute. Photo by Cathy Web.
