Welcome to AVA’s monthly calendar of events. Take a peek and plan your stay-cation or your next visit to our region. The city’s most notable annual events include historic home tours, outdoor summer concerts and movies under the stars, and the Northwest Art and Air Festival.

Join this walking tour of 2nd Avenue to learn about the history of the buildings and the businesses that have occupied them over the past 150 years. The tour starts promptly at 6 PM and will be approximately 1 hour in length.
While the tour is free, there is a suggested $5 donation per person, to benefit the Monteith Historical Society.
Meet at Burkhart Square (next to the Albany Civic Theater) on the corner of 1st Ave and Lyons St.
This tour is sponsored by The Natty Dresser as part of Albany‘s celebration of National Historic Preservation Month.

The Vintage Roost is a seasonal gift shop nestled in the scenic hills of the beautiful North Albany countryside. Springtime at the Roost is a spring show featuring indoor and outdoor garden decor, delicious baked goods, and a shop full of antiques and collectibles. 30 local crafters have contributed to the beautiful and unique gifts available for purchase.
The show is open Fridays and Saturdays only, May 3 – May 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For information visit the Vintage Roost Facebook page.
PARKING: Passengers may be dropped off at the front doors of the shop by driving through the circular driveway. While there is no parking available in the driveway, parking is available on Scenic Drive.
All credit cards are accepted as well as cash and checks.
Founded in 1978, the Albany Farmers’ Market is the oldest continuously operated open-air farmers’ market in Oregon. Nestled between Historic Downtown Albany and the beautiful park-like grounds of the Linn County Courthouse, the Albany Farmers’ Market is easy to access by foot, bicycle, car or bus and is just a few blocks from Amtrak at the historic Albany Station.

This is an one day event to highlight some talented people in Albany. There will be artists demonstrating their crafts or just selling their works at various locations in the downtown area. Stroll through the Monteith district to discover these treasures. Be prepared to be dazzled and surprised by all the creativity right here in Albany.
Don your finest tweed attire and join us for a bicycle tour of Albany’s National Historic Districts!
This event starts at The Natty Dresser, 124 Broadalbin St SW.
Arrive by 9:30 am to enter the costume and best bike contests. The ride starts at 10 am. The tour will stop occasionally to talk about menswear and the historic buildings and sights along the way. Bring a cup if it looks like it is going to be a warm day as there will be a water break along the way.
The ride ends at the Deluxe Brewery where they will be hosting their annual Vintage Bicycle Show and Swap Meet.
Food and drink will be available for purchase at the brewery, but riders are also welcome to bring a picnic lunch to the ride, as the brewery allows outside food.
Join two experienced birders, Bill Freeland and Madelyn Antinucci, for a Guided Birding Tour at Thompson’s Mills. Learn about migration, nesting habits, and how to observe and record your findings. Bill and Madelyn will have a few pairs of binoculars to loan, but please bring your own if possible. Wear comfortable waterproof boots and dress to be outside for at least an hour, walking one mile on flat ground. Meet in the parking lot next to the restrooms at Thompson’s Mill.
