SWEET HOME 2023 • FRIDAY, JUNE 30TH AT 3 PM AND SATURDAY, JULY 1ST AT 1 PM

MUSIC, BBQ, & FIREWORKS

They will have the best pro barbecue pitmasters duking it out to see who has the best barbecue. You get to sample and vote who has the best! These teams will be competing to see who is grand champion and qualify for the American Royal and Jack Daniels Barbecue Championship.

Live fire cooking will be presented by Vic Superskewer: Whole Hog, Gator and more! We encourage attendees to bring a lawn chair to enjoy a day full of music, barbecue, and fireworks. We will have guest appearances from:

A highlight of the summer at Detroit Lake is its Fireworks Display and weekend Celebration, held on the closest Saturday to Independence Day. The fireworks start at about 10 p.m. and can be viewed from all over town, from trails on the mountain tops, or from a boat anchored on the Lake.

Since 1902 Independence Days, (formerly known as Western Days), has been a hometown tradition for locals. It’s a 4th of July party like no other, a special event planned for the community, by the community. Join them at the Riverview Park in downtown Independence, July 2nd-4th.

It’ll be family fun for all at the Official Fireworks of Salem, with a carnival, food and beverage, and a concert by Alabama, wrapping up with a FREE 20-minute fireworks show that will light up the sky above the Oregon State Fairgrounds!

Tickets are on sale now!
Alabama concert tickets include access to the VIP Party Zone. Carnival tickets will be sold onsite at the event.

The Albany Arts Commission (AAC) will participate in Albany’s First Friday event in April with its first-ever commission members show.

On First Friday, April 5, 2024, members of the AAC will host a reception at City Hall from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm.

This event is free and open to the public. Come meet your AAC active artist members, enjoy refreshments, view the variety of their work, and learn more about AAC’s mission and goals to support the arts in our community.

The AAC has raised public funds to support ongoing artist receptions for First Friday downtown for the rest of 2024.

National Preservation Month Events- Albany and Benton County @ Albany, Oregon
May 1 – May 26 all-day

May is dedicated to National Preservation Month. Also known as Historic Preservation Month, the month celebrates the nation’s heritage through historic places.

Albany is home to four national historic districts and the location of the most varied collection of architectural styles in the state. There are more than 800 historic buildings in three of the districts, dating from the 1840s to the 1950s, and all located within an area of approximately 100 square blocks.

Come and celebrate the heritage of Albany by participating in various events and exploring historic places all month long.

Events will include the Annual Tweed Ride, Walking History Tours, Building Tours, Vintage Bicycle Show, the Hidden History Scavenger Hunt, and more!

Many events are available to participate in and learn the history of the area.

Some events require registration, all are free.  For updates, please check THE VISIT CORVALLIS OR ALBANY VISITORS websites.
This event schedule is a collaboration between the Benton County and Corvallis Historic Resources Commissions, the Albany Heritage Commission, and PreservationWORKS.

Albany Tweed Ride 2024 @ The Natty Dresser

Don your finest tweed attire and join us for a bicycle tour of Albany’s National Historic Districts!
This event starts at The Natty Dresser, 124 Broadalbin St SW.

Arrive by 9:30 am to enter the costume and best bike contests. The ride starts at 10 am.  The tour will stop occasionally to talk about menswear and the historic buildings and sights along the way.  Bring a cup if it looks like it is going to be a warm day as there will be a water break along the way.
The ride ends at the Deluxe Brewery where they will be hosting their annual Vintage Bicycle Show and Swap Meet.
Food and drink will be available for purchase at the brewery, but riders are also welcome to bring a picnic lunch to the ride, as the brewery allows outside food.
