Celebrate the Cumberland’s 132nd birthday! Join the Community Events Center and enjoy tours, cake, and the history of this wonderful building, which is being renovated and will be home to the Cumberland Community Events Center. This event is part of Albany’s celebration of National History Preservation Month.
History of the Cumberland
The Cumberland Church building has been a part of Albany for 130 years. The church was built in 1892 by the Cumberland Presbyterians, a progressive branch of the Presbyterian Church. When it was dedicated on May 5, 1892, it was a rectangular, one-room meeting-style church. The building was moved to its new home on the corner of Santiam and Pine on October 17, 2021. The new address is 1400 Santiam Road SE. Once the restoration is complete, Cumberland will offer educational and enrichment programs for children and families, and provide a facility for the arts, education, recreation, celebration, and locally-based activities. Join the Albany String Orchestra for their Spring Concert!
Pieces featured are: Vivaldi; Concerto for Four Violins in b minor,
Warlock; Capriol Suite and Jenkins; “Diamond Music” from Palladio.
The concert will be held at Albany First Christian Church on Saturday, May 11th at 3:00 PM.
Free admission and open to all.
First Friday- Family Craft Night
Join the Albany Regional Museum for a family-friendly craft night! Little ones and parents can enjoy hands-on activities in the community room. There will be opportunities for younger children to create old-fashioned toys such as a thaumatrope or design their own 9-square quilt. Older children can explore the exhibits.
This event is free to participate in and admission is waived during First Friday hours!
Parental supervision is required for kids 10 years and younger to participate in Family Craft Night.

Members of Friends of Historic Albany (FOHA) will be discussing historically significant residents and structures during a one-hour walking tour through a portion of the Hackleman Historic District.
The tour begins at 2:30 p.m. in front of the former Oregon Electric Railroad Depot, 133 5th Ave. SE,
