6th Annual Albany Taps & Caps! @ Downtown Albany

Furniture Share* cordially invites you to the 6th Annual Albany Taps & Caps, Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 4 pm – 9 pm.  This fundraising event is presented by The Garage, No Rails Ale House, Deluxe Brewing, Calapooia Brewing Company, and the Albany Downtown Association.

Start your night at either The Garage or Deluxe Brewing on April 6th between 4 pm and 9 pm to pick up your growler (first 50 tickets sold), 4 tasting tickets (1 for each stop on the tour), and a raffle ticket for one of the giveaways at each stop. Presale tickets and growlers can be picked up on April 3-5th at the Albany Downtown Association from 10-5 pm. Please bring your email confirmation of your ticket sale.

Stay for the after-party at Deluxe Brewing from 9-11 pm. Enjoy live music – your entry is free with your Albany Taps & Caps bracelet.

*Furniture Share is a program that provides low-income families, individuals, and children across the Willamette Valley with a comfortable night’s sleep and makes their house a home by providing them with basic furniture and household items! Have a fun night knowing you’ve helped a great cause!

Members of Friends of Historic Albany (FOHA) will be discussing historically significant residents and structures during a one-hour walking tour through part of the Hackleman Historic District. The tour begins at 6 p.m. in front of the former Oregon Electric Railroad Depot, 133 5th Ave. SE, and will end at the Albany Regional Museum, 136 Lyon St. SW.  You are welcome to stay and attend  FOHA’s annual public meeting at the museum, where you can enjoy the museum’s exhibits from 7 to 8 p.m.

Hidden History Scavenger Hunt @ The Natty Dresser | Albany | Oregon | United States

The Hidden History Scavenger Hunt includes photos of Downtown architectural elements to identify. Forms, and information on how to get them,  will be available on May 1st.  All entries must be returned to The Natty Dresser by Thursday, May 26, 5:00 pm. All correctly completed entries will be put into a drawing for a prize. The winner will be announced May 31 on Facebook and contacted by phone. This event is part of Albany‘s celebration of National Historic Preservation Month. Happy Hunting!

National Preservation Month Events- Albany and Benton County @ Albany, Oregon
May 1 – May 31 all-day

May is dedicated to National Preservation Month. Also known as Historic Preservation Month, the month celebrates the nation’s heritage through historic places.

Albany is home to four national historic districts and the location of the most varied collection of architectural styles in the state. There are more than 800 historic buildings in three of the districts, dating from the 1840s to the 1950s, and all located within an area of approximately 100 square blocks.

Come and celebrate the heritage of Albany by participating in various events and exploring historic places all month long.

Events will include the Annual Tweed Ride, Walking History Tours, Building Tours, Vintage Bicycle Show, the Hidden History Scavenger Hunt, and more!

Join this walking tour of 1st Avenue to learn about the history of the buildings and the businesses that have occupied them over the past 150 years. The tour starts promptly at 6 PM and will be approximately 1 hour in length.
While the tour is free, there is a suggested $5 donation per person, to benefit the Monteith Historical Society.

Meet at Burkhart Square (next to the Albany Civic Theater) at the corner of 1st Ave and Lyons St.

Don your finest tweed attire and join us for a bicycle tour of Albany’s National Historic Districts!
This event starts at The Natty Dresser, 124 Broadalbin St SW.

Arrive by 9:30 am to enter the costume and best bike contests. The ride starts at 10 am.  The tour will stop occasionally to talk about menswear and the historic buildings and sights along the way.  Bring a cup if it looks like it is going to be a warm day as there will be a water break along the way.
The ride ends at the Deluxe Brewery where they will be hosting their annual Vintage Bicycle Show and Swap Meet.
Food and drink will be available for purchase at the brewery, but riders are also welcome to bring a picnic lunch to the ride, as the brewery allows outside food.
