Join the Albany Carousel for a sensory-friendly ride!
To provide a more accepting and comfortable setting for individuals on the autism spectrum or with sensory sensitivities and their families, we will slow the carousel down to a jog and turn off the organ music.
It’s our hope to provide a fun and inviting space for everyone. So put on your blue and join us!
On the 1st Friday of every month, the carousel is open from 5:30-8:00 p.m., and for just $5 per person you get UNLIMITED CAROUSEL RIDES, plus a fun activity or craft for the family, along with gift shop specials and a great deal on a tasty treat at the Carousel Café! Photo by Nathan Pendley.

This program provides an introductory exploration of Pacific Northwest mushrooms. The program, which is catered to beginners and open to all ages, leads participants through mushroom-themed activities and a guided walk to identify mushroom species on trails. Activities include a Kid Zone specially designed for young explorers aged 12 and under.
Organizers said that participants should note that while the event emphasizes learning and appreciation, mushroom collection will not be a part of the activities.
The admission is $25 for adults ($31 out of city). Children 12 and under are free.
Online registration is available here for a morning session (9-11:30 a.m.) and here for an afternoon session (1-3:30 p.m.). Registration can also be done via phone at 541-766-6918.
The event is a joint effort between Benton County Natural Areas & Parks, Corvallis Parks & Recreation, Corvallis Environmental Center, Oregon State University Department of Botany & Plant Pathology and The Mushroomery.

The Kids Create classes are open to everyone in the community. They have limited space, so call and sign up as soon as possible at 541-497-0386.
If a class fills up, there’s always a possibility that they will create another class later in the day. If you have an elementary-age or younger child, please stay with your child and help supervise them.
These classes and workshops have been made possible through a grant from the Linn County Cultural Coalition.

The 15th Annual Oregon Mid-Valley Road Race is set to kick off on Thanksgiving morning 2023! Food, music, awards and prizes await those who are not afraid of ‘The Gobbler’s Revenge’.
The Mid-Valley Lions Club started the Oregon Mid-Valley Road Race as an annual running event in the region to raise dollars to help meet growing medical needs in the Mid-Valley.

Jackson Street youth services presents live music at Skate Park After Dark with karaoke and youth vigil. The Jackson Street team, youth ambassadors, and staff will be at the skatepark serving up hot food, big smiles, winter resources, and fun activities.
No drugs, no alcohol, no jerks.

Deluxe Brewing and Sinister Distilling will host the Albany Toy Run on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the brewery located at 635 NE Water Ave. All motorcycle riders, classic car drivers and passengers are encouraged to participate in this fun event. New, unwrapped toys, for children of all ages are needed for donation. Community members are welcome to drop off donations with brewery staff during open business hours this week. The Deluxe Brewing taproom is open Monday through Friday, 3 – 9 pm, Saturday 12 – 9 pm, and this Sunday 11 am – 8 pm.
The Albany Toy Run parade will begin at 11 a.m., starting at the Walmart Supercenter
parking lot, at 1330 Goldfish Farm Rd SE, Albany, Ore. Motorcycle riders will be joined by
Santa Claus, riding on an Albany Fire Department truck, who will escort their donations
from Walmart to Deluxe Brewing where they will unload all of the donated toys and
enjoy a festive reception. Riders will depart Walmart at 11 a.m. exactly.
Between 1 and 4 p.m., children and their families are invited to visit Deluxe Brewing,
where they will have the opportunity to meet Santa and his elves who will help the
children choose a gift for Christmas. If you have a child or children with special needs
who are not able to attend the party, please contact Beth Walker at 541-730-1042.
The Albany Toy Run was first hosted in 1983 and was started by The Association for
Motorcyclists of Oregon. It is an annual event hosted by local motorcyclists to provide
Christmas joy to the children of the Albany area through donated toys. Throughout the
past 40 years, this event has been carried on by members who wanted to ensure that it
continues helping local children and their family’s have a better Christmas.
Admission to the event is free, and minors are welcome in Deluxe Brewing. The Deluxe
Food Cart will be open on Sunday, serving a limited menu from 12 – 2 pm to
