An enchanting surprise to delight both children and adults will be on display at City Hall during the month of December. The costumed squirrels of artist Ronda Johnson come to life in three-dimensional dioramas as well as fun photos. A night watch photo of Baron Von Potentaut of the Natty Dresser will be on display as well.
Miniature art, quizzical ,whimsy and fine art will be displayed for your pleasure.
City Hall hours are 8-5, Monday thru Friday with the exhibit beginning Monday the 4th of December.
Join the Albany Carousel for a sensory-friendly ride!
To provide a more accepting and comfortable setting for individuals on the autism spectrum or with sensory sensitivities and their families, we will slow the carousel down to a jog and turn off the organ music.
It’s our hope to provide a fun and inviting space for everyone. So put on your blue and join us!

Support the carousel and create some unforgettable Christmas memories by joining the Historic Albany Carousel staff and volunteers for Breakfast with Santa & Mrs. Claus!
Tickets are $25 per person and include:
-A complete (and completely delicious) breakfast
-Christmas carol concert by South Albany High School Choir
-A fun Christmas craft at each table for your family to complete while waiting for Santa
-Professional photo of your child’s meeting with Santa by Sarah LaFond Photography
-A one-on-one visit with Santa, along with a personalized note from Santa and a gift he picked out for them!

The Kids Create classes are open to everyone in the community. They have limited space, so call and sign up as soon as possible at 541-497-0386.
If a class fills up, there’s always a possibility that they will create another class later in the day. If you have an elementary-age or younger child, please stay with your child and help supervise them.
These classes and workshops have been made possible through a grant from the Linn County Cultural Coalition.

It’s a quick trip to Corvallis to visit the historic Whiteside Theater!
Born out of the relentless winter months of the Pacific Northwest — where Christmas sweaters adorn even the animal statues — this holiday concert hits different.
The Cello Project, known for their delightfully dedicated performances of both modern and classical music (and everything in between), invite Saeeda Wright on stage with them to bring a complement of unexpected classical jams to the holiday stage. Expect uniquely jazzy takes on holiday classics from What Child is This and Do You Hear What I Hear, to standards like What Are you Doing for New Years?, bridged with Hannukah medleys and hidden gem classical pieces from Benjamin Britten and renaissance rounds made famous by The Monkees.
Just try to be a scrooge at this concert. We dare you. There’s something for everyone, and all the gifts are tied together by the cello in the unique ways that have made The Cello Project a perennial favorite over the last decade.
Special Guest Saeeda Wright has been seen on stages backing Prince (as a member of his New Power Generation), and she has performed with gospel music greats Jessica Reedy, Cece Winans, Crystal Akin, JJ Harrison and Yvette Williams. She is regularly featured heating up the stage in The Cello Project’s Purple Reign programs, and The Cello Project is honored to have her continue their relationship, warming up some wonderful wintertime favorites on this program as well as a new album — also called Under the Mistletoe with Saeeda Wright — due out in November 2023.
